Hi all, great forum!
Last week, I bought this 28g hex tank and stand from a friend for 50 bucks.
It was grossly neglected, and had a leak. With the help of this forum, I was able to completely dismantle it, clean, and reseal it. I'm kicking myself for not taking any "before", and "during" pictures.
Let me know what ya think. I need to take some of that gravel out and add some decoration. I don't think planting is going to happen in this tank. I'm too inexperience right now and lighting is an issue.
My main concern right now is fishless cycling. I don't know where to get my hands on some pure ammonia. I also have no source of bacteria whatsoever.
Will a tank cycle without added bacteria? Will it just take longer?
If/when I can get it cycled I will be looking for advice on stocking it.
