Newbie wanting to start Cichlid tank

I bought a 150 gallon tank on black Friday but I won't be putting fish in it until the spring. We are moving sometime in the spring and I don't want to move the fish. I'm new to keeping Cichlids and I have done some research and i'm leaning towards Lake Malawi fish (Peacocks and Haps). I'm not really sure how many I can keep or how many I can start with. I will have 2 canister filters. Any suggestions on what fish I should stock?
