Hi Everyone,
I have been working with Saltwater tanks for 20 years (15 FO), (5 Leather reef). There is still so much to know, it's almost "maddening". I'm back in Washington State after a two year visit to Hawaii. I currently have a 65 gl. FOWLR, Fluval 405 w/ surface skimmer, 6 PCs in 3 pairs (for a morning, mid-morning, noon and back down again) ripple lighting effect, and a pair of water moving jets. The set-up has been running for about a year and I'm getting ready to begin adding soft corals.
Before Hawaii, my 55 gl. with a giant bubble tip, soft corals, and fish looked ok, but now I want the "Oh my God!" effect that only a vibrant reef can yeild. Yes, yes, water quality is going to be a bear!
