Hello,

I live in Madison, Wisconsin and my wife and I have a 46 gallon bow front tropical aquarium. We recently decided to upgrade to live plants. We've upgraded the lighting and a few plants, but we're running into trouble with algae.

I'm hoping to connect with some more advanced aquarium owners to learn more about live plans and other upgrades that I would like to do. (Filters, etc.)

The first thing I would do if there is algae is cut back on the hours of lighting

Even if you just run the lights for 30 mins less each day it can make a big difference

Welcome to AA :)

Start a new thread in the planted tank forum and give some specs, even pictures (we love those). Should be able to figure out the problem and get everything straightened out for ya ;)
