120W LED Marine light

Gday I bought a new light set up for my 980t since I have started to use it my tank glass is covered in algie. Is the light not powerfull enough or what elce could it be any help would be good thanks.

Without knowing exactly what light you got, my guess would be the increase in lighting helped kick off the growth in algae. The more light and food (excessive nutrients) for the algae, the more it will grow.
