2 aquariums-1 stand

I have a aqueon bow front aqauriuam stand.
I think I may be able to put my 10 gallon in the stand, would the fish in the 10 gallon be okay in dark? They are just bettas.

Some form of a day/night cycle is needed, IMO. Could you put some under cabinet lighting in the stand or a simple clip-on light?

I agree. Plus, I assume you will want to see them occasionally and will need to do maintenance in the tank. Maybe something as simple as one of the stick on LED lights?

If you do that, you should see what it looks like with the door or doors removed. Then you can see both tanks at the same time.

You could just buy a desk lamp that you could stand behind the tank.
