39w or 80w? T5

the unit im looking at to cover my 100gal is comprised of 6 x T5's. the standard wattage available is 39, but is it worth paying that little extra for the 80's? i mean, more WPG is better, right?

im into SPS but may decide to keep some LPS coral too, and the tank is around 24" deep btw.

thanks!

If you are talking about SPS corals then you`ll need the extra wattage. T5HO is the way to go. The lesser wattage would work for LPS and soft corals.
