96W PC - bulb broke... anyone else have this happen? - Aquarium Advice

One of the tubes in my 96W PC broke (cracked through) right where the little blob of glue holds the tubes together in the middle. It was only 2 months old and vendors (I have since discovered) tend not to offer warranties on bulbs.

Before you ask, the bulb was on ~8 hours per day, over glass.
Has anyone else had this problem? If so, are there any manufacturers of 96W PCs that don't have this problem, or are there any online vendors who will offer a replacement if it does happen again?

I had the same thing happen, but I think it was one of the bulbs that came with my canopy when I bought it, so i don't know how old it was or what kind. Does the bulb still work or not??
