acrylic tank on open stand question.
I always read online that with diy glass and acrylic tanks you need a solid piece of plywood and even a towel or styrofoam.
I just got a great deal on a 90g acrylic aquarium with everything. But as we were draining and loading it into my truck. I saw that the stand had only one cross member on the part that the tank sits on. The guy sead he had it for three years when his friend gave it to him. I filled it with only about 75lbs of gravel and added water to it. There may be a slight dip or bow when I rub my hand under the aquarium.
My question is;
If I were to drain it cut the plywood and styrofoam. And put the tabk on it. Would several years of it being set up on this stand. Make the tank crack or get damaged because I now make it flat underneath?
