Advice on best filter system please

I am replacing my fiter/pump assembly as my biolife filter is now obsolete & I can't get the filter replacements from it any more. Also the pump has become noisey & I want to replace it before it packs up completely.
I have a 250 litre (4 foot) tropical tank.
I have been recommended by Hagen the Flugal 4+.
Any further advice please?

Personally, I love the redesigned fluvials. I have a 304 on my 55G and the FX5 on my 125.

You can certainly go with a fluval 404 or 405. I have several fluvals. I also have a Xp3 which is also easy to use and quite effective. I think finding good deals on either cannister should be quite easy. You might even be able to find a good used one locally.

I like using xp3, but I am like you, where I live it is getting hard and hard to find stuff for the xp3 and would probably be easier just upgrade to fluval 404. Which I also heard Fluval is a good cannister filter too. But the xp3 are easy to maintain and very quite.
