Advice Putting Plastic Strip on Glass Canopy

Does anyone have any advice for putting the plastic strip onto a glass canopy such as this one? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003QP60KU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I currently have them on my big aquarium and I recall it being a pain. Am currently struggling to add it to my new 30" top.

You could try pouring very hot water on the part (groove) of the strip that connects to the glass to make it more pliable and easier to work with.
If that does not work you could try placing a slotted screwdriver in the groove and twisting it to increase the gap size. You may have to do this every few inches/cms to along the length of the strip. Good luck!
