Another protein skimmer question
I have the SeaClone 100 venturi skimmer on a 20 gallon nano reef. It's been running for about 3 days, but I cannot have the bubbles going at all or my tank ends up coated in microbubbles. Today I was able to turn it on full blast for a few and make some skimmate, but it sure blanketed my tank with microbubbles. A umber of threads here on this site seem to advise waiting and it would eventually break in - will it break in even if I'm just running water through it? I don't want to stress my corals while this equip breaks in.....

The venturi does not need to be functional and will gradually break in as bacteria coat the internal surfaces (days-weeks).

I would raise the water to the recommended level (see instruction booklet) inside, though.
