Another Seaclone Question

I was reading a thread about seaclone 100 protien skimer mods. It was saying something about removing the air inlet tube completly, and doing something with a 44 cent sponge? Can anyone clear this up? Also how the he'll do you get that inner tube out to cut it down? I tryed and cannot get that frikin thing out. Any advice? And am I going at the right tube? It's the small one at the bottom right, not the big one that slides out after you remove the gasket.
