The lids leak like crazy, so I've been using my thumb. Is the liquid dangerous with skin contact? I always wash my hands thoroughly after. Just want to know if I'll die of cancer or anything. ^^

I would imagine the chemicals are not the best for your skin , but whatever from your thumb may affect the test .

So far, it doesn't seem so. But I should probably think of an alternative. Thanks for the response.

I think you'll live. Take a look at the bottles; one is a bit more caustic than the rest and has a more serious warning on it. Might be one of the nitrate solutions but I cant recall for sure.

Yes, I think it mentions in the guidebook somewhere not to use your thumb (as might contaminate results rather than any serious safety issues).

Contact API, explain your problem and they will send you new caps for free !

The glass tube caps do leak pretty bad, I just use them then rinse everything off
