Aquatop at-300

So I just purchased one. I currently have a cascade 1000. Made for up too 100 gallon tanks. I plan on running it along side the aqua top... the aquatop is only made for up to 80 gallon tanks but it has a much higher gph. Whys that? Hows it rated for a smaller tank yet the cascades rated higher with less gph.

Also tanks a 75g I think maybe 80g. Its tall. If it matters.
