Ok question is they do 1x 300w version or 2x 125w? Which shall I go for?

I would never go back to T5's. I like everything about my ebay LEDs better than my old T5s. It used to KILL me to have to replace the bulbs every 9 months. SOOO much money. My ebay LEDs are 2 years old now and still perfect. I have everything from Acropora to Anemones to Zoanthids in my tank, everything does great under them.

that was the determining factor for me. when I realized it would cost more every 6 months to replace bulbs than a new Chinese LED that is rated for well over 5 years costs, it was a no brainer.
figure in the savings in the energy bill and it's a win/win.(y)

Is there a way of not hanging these lights from the ceiling? Anyone had any experience of this?

I have mine hanging from the wall with a shelf rack. The metal ones. It can hold up to a 100lbs

Mounting in the canopy is really simple and takes most, if not all the clutter out. I'm going canopy on my new tank build because I don't care for the light shed outside the rim of the tank..
