Best HOB filter

What is the best hang on back filter for my 20 gal planted tank?

I'm partial to the Whisper HOB filters. I have always used them and have had great results.

hmm i used a whisper and i stopped using it as soon as i could.. lol about 4 years. didnt use it for the middle 2 though. i like aquaclears and marineland filters.

the best would likely be the one you can get the most mechanical filtration media into and that would be the aquaclear. I personaly feel you could mod any brand filter to be great filters for planted tanks though.

another vote for Aquaclear. plus the new ones come with a bag of carbon, a sponge, and a bag of 'bio max'...kind of like porouos pumice stones, giving tons of surface area for superior bio-filtration.
