Best sump water depth for ASM G3 skimmer

Just got the skimmer today and boy do the instructions leave a lot to the imagination! Was wondering what those of you that have one keep your water depth at? Thanks!

i have the ASM G1 X. i keep in about 8 inches of water. as long as the pump is covered good and not sucking air and the output tube tube is not under water than you should be good.
