Bio Balls

Anybody have any suggestions for what i should put in my sump where the bio balls would be? ive heard alot of negative stuff about them, so i dont want to put them in... what else could i use?

forget who suggested pot scrubbers for helping seed a tank. I was thinking on the same line that it might be good in a filter.

well, its for a fw tank, maybe i should have added that in there lol... i guess im going to get bioballs though as several people in chat told me they just caused problems in sw

I saw a pack of 3 or 4 of them at a dollar store me, the scrubbies not the bio-balls.

I always try to get toilet paper, sinus meds, and stuff like that at the dollar stores. You guys have given me an idea for a cheap tank seeder from this thread.
