2 months ago I purchased 6 stage RO/DI filter from purewaterclub.com
Yes, it was cheap, only $104, cheap enough to break after 2 months.
At first it worked just fine. TDS reading was below 4 for first couple of weeks. Then I stopped measuring, until now. Today's reading was 550 TDS!!! First I thought that TDS meter might be broken or needs calibration. Then I discovered that water from waste water line is continually flowing even when filter is not being used. I suspected broken auto shutoff valve, and thats where filtered RO water mix with unfiltered water giving me such high TDS. After bypassing auto shutoff and flushing RO membrane TDS readings were still in 550 range. Now I have no idea what could go wrong. My tap water is 750 TDS.
Filter has a warranty for a year and I hope that purewaterclub.com will replace whole unit.
I just wonder, for how long I used straight tap water in my tanks?
