I'm getting a new 20 gallon (12 x 24 x 15) and I was wondering if I could just put it on normal furniture. I already have this bench Amazon.com - Boraam 36369 Farmhouse Bench, White/Natural in the house, so can I just put it on the bench instead of buying a special aquarium stand? The maximum capacity of the bench is listed as 250-300 lbs, and my aquarium should weigh 200 lbs or less. I'm just a bit concerned about how wide the legs of the bench are (48 in) compared to the width of the aquarium (24 in). Would it sag in the long run under the weight of the aquarium?

Since the tank is probably going to be smaller than the stand I would put center support stands in the middle of the bench to the ground. The bench is probably designed to hold 250-300 across the whole thing. To be on the safe side I would put two more legs on the bench on the middle.
