Canister filter comparison

I'm looking to upgrade to canister on 72 gal tank to run w a hob filter but am torn where to go. Had a deal on used fx5 fluval that fell through plus I'm not positive it'll fit under cabinet. I'm looking at another one new that wont break the bank. Looking at cascade 1500 just set that up on friends tank changed gravel to sand and in 12 hrs water was like glass. Also looking at fluval 405/406. Marineland c-530. Filstar xp xl (old was xp4). All have pretty favorable reviews. Found 405 cheap for 120, filstar for 190, and c530 for 160. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Its all really what everyone prefers. I myself have had a couple rena canisters for years and love them. I will never buy any other type of filter again in the canister world but those.
