Why do the tubes of my marine land 350 pro fill up with black filth. Can it harm my fish. How should I clean it

Hi, I've got different canister filters but do notice algae on the hoses. Did you mean this? Or carbon or gunk? I think you can get cleaning brushes for the hoses. I've never worried as the hoses are tucked away and it doesn't get bad enough to impact flow rates.

Yep, I get the same stuff. From time to time I'll get a wild hair and clean the hoses out. It's never hurt anything.

I believe its just biofilm. I get the same thing in my filter hoses. As long as it don't interfere with flow rate, I don't worry about it!!

Same here must admit I'm always worried on the hose clamps developing a leak so tend to just leave them alone.
