cheap fluval skimmer - anyone use this?

anyone have experiance with this and hooking it into a tetra whisper filter? I know I "COULD" do it but does it actually work. Its not so much grime on the surface as bubbles from my airstones not popping fast enough.

It works pretty good for the price. Took me a bit to get it dialed in, but does what it's supposed to do. I hooked it up to a Fluval 406 and to a AquaClear 70, got rid of the surface oil slime from not cleaning my black sand pretty quick.
