Chinese LEDs

I have the new LEDs installed 2x 165w over my 80g. My question is who uses these and how long per day? I'm thinking 6 hours with white and blues either side, also what cameras do people use to get good pictures from the corals under these lights?

I run mine flat out 9 hours a day, both colors. I run a blue strip light for my moon lighting 24/7.
I run the Blues 80% and the whites 65%

How did you ramp this up to max? Over. A few days or weeks? I guess it's a case of watching if the corals are bleaching or not?

I ran halides previous to leds, so i just ramped it up over 2 weeks. Starting at like 30% and adding a few %'s per 3-4days

Id start those at %50 blue %25 white for like a week then slowly move them up. I have 3 120 w over my 6 foot tank and run them at %100 blue, %25 white and that's more than enough for my sps and nem. Those units are really powerfull and if your coral aren't used to it will bleach pretty quick.

I have a Nikon DSLR and the best pics are if my white balance is set at 10000 k and my iso is turned up to 400 and my shutter speed is really fast. This is the best way to get color to show and not just have blue pictures. Another option is to turn the blues way down to take pics then turn them back up...

How deep is your tank? Mines almost 36" deep plus atleast 10 for the lights.

24" and 10 for the lights. How close to the surface are your sps?

Maybe start at 50% and go from there. They pump out a surprisingly strong amount of light. SO many people have burned coral by blasting these Chinese units...
