Compact fluorescents

Correct me if im wrong but is this the right spectrum of light to simulate daylight in a saltwater reef? If so, why are these bulbs 40 bucks in the lfs?

because you have to pay for shipping if you order it online...

and when you buy it at the LFS you pay them for the lamp, the stores rent, the employees salary, the store utilities, the stores markup, etc...

having the merchandise in a store costs the seller much more than keeping the merchandise in a warehouse. so, you, the consumer, pays the difference. plus its way more convenient to buy it at the store and have it right away... so, people pay more.

Cool, was jut mainly wanting to know if these were the correct bulbs for a reef. I just ordered 2 12000k bulbs like these for 38 bucks shipped! Not bad at all, besides they lfs where i live is terrible. The owners are very rude and not in any way friendly at all.
