coral life 65 skimmer help

hello all im aback with yet another issue. i did water change 2 weeks ago and i ran out of the prime tap water stuff that i always use and used a diff water conditoner now that i used that my skimmer is going nuts fills up all the time in less than 5 min usually in less than 3 min someone told me to leave it off for 3 days then turn on i did same issue its been off for 2 weeks i cant turn it off dont know what to do plz help
