What is the lighting needs for corals when they say

low lighting needs =??? watts per gallon

intermediate lighting needs = ??? watts per gallon

intense lighting needs = ??? watts per gallon

I would suggest you look at it from a different perspective. Corals can be placed at various depth within an aquarium (species depending) but certain species are only at their best when under an intense focused light. So in terms of what you've posted above...

Look at the low-med types as PC, VHO or T5HO dependant and intense lighting as MH or MH/Fluor combo's. Still not a good way of looking at it but I think you get the idea. Watts/gal is pretty much a useless guideline to use. More importantly is intensity vs depth.

@ 20" high (?), your 2x96w should support a wide range of soft and LPS corals without issue. Certain less demanding SPS might also be possible if placed midway or higher in the tank.
