Just purchased an 130 Watt aqualight with a dual linear strips. It has a actinic lamp and a 10,000 k super daylight lamp. Do I run these lamps together or do I set things up to simulate dusk, dawn by running one then the other. Or does it depend on the type of corals I'll have in my tank. Evey time I think I'm catching on I turn a corner it's pitch black. :D

LOL! That's too funny. I know the feeling. I have 4x65w with 2x10k and 2xactinics. I turn the actinics on an hour before my whites come on (and leave all 4 on during the day) and then turn my actinics off an hour or so before I turn my whites off.

I have my Actinics come on at 10am, off at 10pm. 10,000K on at 11am and off at 9pm. Moonlights run 24/7.
I, to, have the coraife 4x65watt fixture. My corals are doing great. I do not have a glass top on my tank so I get much better light penetration.
