I ran across a used 5 stage RO filter for $14.99 and I am not sure how long it has been without water. I was going to replace all the filters but not sure if I need to replace the membrane as well. The original membrane is rated at 9 gpd if I have to purchase a new one could I get I higher rated one like 30 gpd and it would still fit?
I have been reading about the filters but not sure which ones or micron sizes are best andto replace with. There are three bottom slots 10" each, the membrane on top and then a final finishing filter.
Also, I know I need to add a DI filter to the system but does it matter which type single stage, double stage, name brand etc?
