Here we go! I was up since 4 planning. It took me a couple of hours to decide on the "stand"

Looks good! Very different from having the canopy.

I really can't tell yet. Kneejerk observation is that it looks cleaner. I like seeing water movement on the sand bed

Now that I think about it, they are much brighter as it's only on 20%

Yep..the shimmer is nice. You lose that with T5's. I am using a T5 fixture right now, and even though I have high end lamps in it, I am missing the LEDs.

No. I don't care about moonlights anyway. I ran tanks with and without them and didn't see any difference. If you want to view the tank at night, you can use just about anything to make a moonlight effect. I was using a string of blue LED christmas lights over my 300.
just buy these and wrap them around the pvc frame....
