I use glass thermometers too. But the strips get a bad wrap. They work better than people give them credit for. I tested a strip and it read the exact same temperature as my glass thermometer.

Really? I had/have stick on one on my 70, 8 and 2.5 and they are rubbish. Read up to 3 degrees celsius different to my glass ones. Was a nightmare when I got ich and though my temp was 30C but was really 27-28C!

It is probably a function of quality manufacturing rather than the concept at play. The 2 I have owned read very accurately.
