do u 'still' need an airstone with a power filter??

i was wondering.

is a power filter/hang-on back filter SUFFICIENT in oxygenating a tank?

or do u still need an airstone???

Nope. No airstone needed. Power Fliters put the neccesary oxygen in the tank. Just make sure the power filter is large enough and puts out enough Gallons Per Hour. (7 times your gallonage)

Other than that, airstones are completely optional.

That should be cool. Do you know the gallons per hour? All you would really need is 70 GPH for your tank.

Now thats alot of filtration.
One aquaclear mini filters 100 gph.
So in one hour your tank water should be turning over 20x.

That tank should be CLEAN..

actually...

i turn 'DOWN' the flow rate to 'half-way'.

cuz at FULL BLAST the 2 filters were creating a whirlpool in the tank.

Haha I can imagine the fish being sucked into it and spinning around and around XD, but that would be a bit cruel to the fish.
