Eheim 2080 filter

I bought a eheim 2080 large canister filter about January 2013 and in the past 3 weeks it stopped working several times. Threw it out and bought 2 eheim 2217s. The old style canisters work great - I have several of them prior to buying the 2080.

You throw it out you are crazy for one it has a 3 year warranty and 2 you would have got good money in spares on eBay

Not a very good idea to throw out such a expensive canister.

You also trashed a filter that has 5 x the amount of bio media than what you just got

The 2217 is tiny compared to the 2080

Even with 2 x 2217 you are looking at less than half a 2080

The term cut off your nose to spite your face comes to mind

Why would you throw it out? If it wasnt working, what wasnt working? The pump? I would have called them first before throwing it away
