External filter

My external filter runs nice for 4 or 5 minutes at a time then a rumble an air is expelled through the outlet any ideas on this

Check you intake tube, could be blocked.

It's a new intake checked for kinks or bends seems fine

What brand and model is the filter?

Make sure the intake isn't near any airstones or co2 diffusers.

Mine does that sometimes after water changes. Shake the Hoses and the filter itself to get any trapped air out of the entire system.
