External filter

Hi I have a jewel 180 litre bow front tank I bought a all pond solution 1000 l.p.h.canister external filter I also use air stones but I find when my air stones are of my fish are gagging do i need a bigger external filter I am prepared to buy one but need advice on what I should get I have four discus 2 adult and 2 small and six corydoras in my tank please help

What do you mean 'gagging'? Breathing heavily?

Do a Water change now for the fish, that will give you time to get things sorted i.e. is it cycled what's your parameters reading etc..........

Yup, water change is your first line of defense when there's something not right.
