Hi all, I'm setting up my first fish tank (freshwater). Right now I have 37G DeepBlue tank, Fluval 306 canister.

Q1. I obviously need to buy the heater and since I love minimalism I would like to put as much less thing inside the tank as possible, so I found these options on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002Z7VQE/ref=psdc_2975456011_t3_B01M4R97RM
https://www.amazon.com/Line-Externa...14944683&sr=1-3&keywords=External+Heater&th=1

Has anybody used them? My main concern is safety including leaking/fire safe, I'm sure that they can provide good heating. I will set up an additional thermometer to measure the ground truth temperature.

Q2. My 37G fish tank has fairly odd shape, it's 30" length and 12" width, so I bought this stand for 29G  Is it fine? Should it be perfectly leveled or some tiny tilt is acceptable?

Thank you

I think I have heard of people using Hydor. I use Ista equipment for CO2 injection and very happy but does seem a little complex with needing to be vertical. Some idle thoughts.

My take on all of your problems is don't buy a Chinese canister filter.

thank you guys, I finally bought Ista inline heater. Works great, the temperature is accurate, tho only C. I had some problems installing it, but hose clap and silicone did the job. Recommend.
