I have a bunch of crushed coral from my old tank setup and I was wondering if it work for extra bio. If it will I would like to put some in my bio cartridges of my filter. TIA

It might but I almost think you would be better getting something like bio beads or something that was designed for that purpose. Moving to General hardware and equipment discussion.

Crushed coral will alter the hardness and pH of your water. Is this for an SW tank?

Yes, this is a SW tank.
Just curious, how will crushed coral alter the ph and hardness of the system? What is in the coral to cause that?
