Yeah yeah, I know. Stupid question .
Is filter floss actually called 'Filter Floss' in the stores? If I were to walk into a walmart or other such store, would they know what I was talking about? I generally try to spend as little time in these places as possible.

Heres a followup, I'll have 4 trays in my cannister filter. Does the floss go in the first and second trays?

Danka.

Filter Floss is just Poly Fill. I believe the only thing you need tt look for is fill that doesn't contain any anti-microbial chemicals. I use my filter floss as a last filtering media to catch any small particulates that got past everything else.

I have seen it go by filter floss, poly fill, and filter fiber to name a few. You are looking for plain 100% polyester. No coating treatments, or chemicals. You can find it in the pet area labeled for fish. I bought a big bag from a fabric store for $3. It is also used as batting in stuffed items. (quilts, animals, etc.)
