Filter media for ac 50 reef

Right now I'm running 2 sponges and Biomax in my aquaclear. Should I use some other media? Resin, floss, carbon?

Should I take everything out and just stuff it with livestock rubble. I've read that floss can be a nitrate factory unless you clean it every other day
