Filter question!!

Can i Put my xp3 filter on my saltwater tank when is is currently being used on a freshwater its a 135 gallon no filter connected at all yet have a sump but no set up

Yes you can, but you will kill the bacteria (different between salt and fresh) and get die off which will produce ammonia and start a cycle or mini-cycle. Why do you want to run a canister on a SW tank? What size, how much LR, how long since setup, etc.? Please give us details on the tank.

could take the filter off clean it kill off the bacteria wash it out so its like a new filter.

the tank is a 135 gallon tank the canister filter is a Rena Xp3 175 gallon filter i dont kno how set up the sump i have the sump box so plz tell me wut i need besides the box
