Has anyone experienced a HOB filter backing up on you?

If you have how much damage did it cause?

Also how do you prevent it from happening?

I live in a condo and they are very ify on fish tanks I just want to know for the future as well.

If you are refeering to a HOB power filter such as an Emperor, Penguin, or Millenium, these all have by-passes built in to them. They're made so that if you let the filter get too dirty and clogged the water will then flow over the filter pads (instead of through them) and exit near the intake tube.

So mentallylost your stating that they have a fail safe option that is great news more fuel for my argument. :D
