Rena xp3 vs fluval 306. Both are the same price.

You can't go wrong with either one. Out of those two, I'd go for the fluval, but I'd also consider eheim 2215 in that price range.

Already have a 2217 and wanted a second filter. Was going to mix filters, just incase one is better at water polishing than another.

Maybe just another 2217 to keep the intakes matching in color. The 2217 is a bigger filter but the gph isnt much different than the 306. I really dont know which to buy. Im setting up the tank as we speak so havent used the 2217 yet so havent tested and cant comment on it.
