I have a 30 gal and a 10 gal that are empty. I have been debating my options and I have decided that I will do a reef with the 30 gal and use the 10 gal as a sump. Do I need to add any other filter to the tank besides the LR rubble that would be in the sump? As far as sump goes it will be LR rubble in the first part, then the skimmer and heater in the next section, and last a retun pump section. I would like to add a fuge, but a 10 gal is kind of small to put all that stuff in. Maybe a HOB fuge. I've attached a plan for my sump.
