Filtration System Recommendation?

I'm in the process of some home modifications centered around the installation of a tank as a room divider.

Ideally, I'd like to be able to put the filtration system in my basement--since the tank is being installed on the first floor, I have easy enough access to my basement.

I'm wondering what would be the ideal type of filtration system to install. Right now, I'm looking at the Hagen Fluval or Eheim canister systems. My main concern is that the systems will not have enough flow pressure to push the water up the tubing from my basement to the tank--a vertical distance of about 8 feet, using about 12 feet of tubing.

Has anyone done anything similar? If so, can you let me know what your solution was?

Thanks!
Jay

You could try the Ocean Clear canister filter with a large water pump that should be able to push the water back up into the tank.

Most Canister filter can only have tube >5 feet from the water outlet.

I know Fluva series recommended 4 feet only.
