flow questions

in a week or so i'm getting a mag 7 for my 90 gal fo
if at all possible can i get some advise on how to flow the tank right
all i have now is a single mj1200 in the upper left middle
blowing at my skimmer in the opposite corner
i will at first be using it in a closed loop system
was also thinking of a scwd

please respond to this i value ALL of your advice

This what? I dont see anything if you had intended to add a photo.

The mag7 will still be undersized if you intend to use it as your only source of water movement for the 90. IMO your ideal water flow rate would be between 1000 and 1200GPH. The maxijet 1200 will give you just under 300gph in the tank and the mag7 after you account for head height and all will come up with an additional 500GPH or so. Now a pair of Mag7s would work nicely and would also provide you a backup incase one pump went down you would have some circulation as you fixed/replaced it.
