Fluval 405 media

I just purchased a used fluval 405 and was wondering what people use as media in each basket.

I am interested in knowing what you use and in what basket you use it in.

Any information would be very helpful!

I do the same exact thing, except I have some crushed coral in a bag somewhere in there, but I can't remember where.

Crushed coral (small bag) and everything else filled with Pond Matrix.

One to keep pH/kH stable and the other to decrease nitrAtes. IMO you should look for media that will serve more purpose than housing aerobic bacteria. The sponge/filter pad already holds enough for your system.
Kind Regards,
