Is anyone using the Fluval or AquaClear (apparently they are the same) surface skimmer? Does it work? It connects to the outlet of the Fluval Canister filters and supposedly both removes organic film on the water's surface and helps improve oxygen exchange. But it seems too cheap to be a real skimmer and do any good? I have a Fluval 304 canister filter that I'd like to buy this for (55 Gal tank). Any opinions?

I don't own one of these, but a friend of mine does, and I really like what it does to his tank. It keeps the surace free of grime that can build up, and keeps water flowing better. It works well enough for me to want to get one. 8)

Yes, it is cheap, but all it does really is take water from the uppermost layer of the tank, and circulate it.

Devilishturtles, thanks for the reply. I think even if that's all it does, it is priced well and I think I'm going to go ahead and get one.
