Ive had my male betta in a fluval Chi for about 10 months now, but I've always wanted to set it up differently and not use the provided filter box and light.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what filter and light I could replace the current ones with? (I am on a tight budget though)

I used the AquaClear 20 fits great on the back with my SW and also with FW. About $25. Same one used on the Fluval Edge tanks.

Used it for a SW pico with live rock and live sand and an airstone.

You could use a sponge filter alternatively. There are a couple companies making nano sizes.

Didn't find the pics when it had some shrimp or when it had the Betta without the top
