Frag Tank Lighting

I have a 34 gallon reef tank that I got about a year ago now. I also have a 20 gallon quarantine tank. It is just one of those all-in-one Top Fin sets. I just came up with the idea that if I added better lighting would it work to use it as a frag tank as well? I haven't had to use any medications on it yet. Without thinking about the fact that if a fish got sick I would need to take the corals out while it is medicated, could this work? I add a frag rack to get it closer to the light and add some better lighting. If this could work, are there any lighting fixtures that are cheap and you think would work? Thanks for the help!
